When are tryouts? When is the draft?
Tryouts are held by league age for the 2012 season as defined by the child’s age as of April 30, 2012. These tryouts are the basis of placing players on teams for the season. All players must attend the tryout sessions specified below. In order to avoid long waits, players should attend the appropriate session based on the initial letter of their last name. Please note that all players are placed on teams! View the tryout/draft schedule.
What happens if my child cannot make tryouts?
All children will be placed on a team.
How old does my child have to be to play?
Players who are 5 to 16 as of April 30, 2012 are eligible to participate.
What is the cut off date for age and division determination?
Division is based on the player's age as of April 30, 2012. The ages for the various divisions are as follows.

What is the fee for Spring 2011 registration?
The registration fee for WULL is $275. Scholarships are available. Please contact our scholarship committee for more information.
What is the deadline for Spring 2011 registration?
The deadline for registration is midnight on January 2, 2012 for the Spring season. There will be an additional $100 late fee for registrations received on or after January 3rd, 2012.
If my child decides not to play, may I receive a refund?
You may request a refund up until January 13, 2012 by emailing the registrar. There will be a $20 penalty on all refunds prior to January, 13, 2012. No refunds will be provided after that date, no exceptions.
When and where will I provide proof of residency and/or age documentation?
New Players (ones that did not play 2011 SPRING WULL) will not be officially registered until their age and residency are confirmed at either the Document Check at the West University Scout Houseon Edloe on Thursday, January 12th, 2012 between 8:30 - 11:00 am; or the New Player Orientation/Information Meeting at the West University Community Center Auditorium (6104 Auden) on Sunday, January 15th, 2012 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.
What equipment does the league provide?
The league will provide your child with a jersey, pants, hat, belt and socks.
What do I need to purchase?
Your child will need his own glove and batting helment. It is also helpful to have a bag to carry all of your child's equipment.
How many kids per team?
Teams will have between 10-12 players.
When and how often will there be practice?
Most age groups (Varsity and older) will have two practices/week.
When and how often do we have games?
Most age groups (PeeWee7 and older) will have two games/week.
How many games will we play in a season?
Most age groups will play 14-16 games/season.
What happens if my child cannot make tryouts?

Can my twins play on the same team?
All twins will be placed on the same team. Please include a note when registering that your child has a twin.
Rookie Division (5 yo’s)
How many practices are there each week?
The Tadpole Rookies have one practice/clinic per week.
When and where are the practices located?
The Rookies typically practice at the Tadpole field on the Main West U Campus. They are typically scheduled in the early evening on a weeknight
How are the practices structured?
The Rookie practices are structured as clinics with 3-4 teams going through drills on the fundamental skills that are lead by professional instructors and each team’s manager and coaches.
How many games are there each week and over the entire season?
The Rookies will play a maximum of one game a week (typically on Saturdays on Tadpole Field) and will play 8-10 games during the season. The games typically start in late February and end in May.
What is the format of the games?
Rookie games are instructional rather than competitive. The entire season uses tee’s for batting and there is roster batting each inning with no outs recorded and score is not kept.
Varsity Division (6 yo’s)
How many practices are there each week?
The Varsity teams have one field practice and one batting cage each week.
How are the practices structured?
There will be a field practice that will focus on developing defensive fundamentals are held on various fields at the WULL complexes. The batting cage will be exclusively focused on batting fundamentals and will help in transitioning to the batting machine.
How many games are there each week and over the entire season?
The Varsity teams typically play one game a week and will play approximately 10 games during the season. The games typically start in late February and end in May.
What is the format of the games?
Varsity games are instructional rather than competitive. The season will start out using tees and will transition to pitching machines for batting. There is roster batting each inning with no outs recorded and score is not kept.
What are the requirements for playing in the Fall?
When can I register for Fall Ball?
Registration for Fall Ball begins August 1st.
