The HOME team’s Field Duty Coordinator is responsible for the following activities before and after the game:
- Raking the infield dirt around the bases, baselines, pitching mounds and home plate areas. Rakes will be located: Bullard/Tadpole/Minor: Green shed outside centerfield of Wallin; Wallin: within the gated area on the 3rd base line adjacent to green storage sheds; South Campus: check on the roof of the dugouts.
- Chalk the baselines and batting box areas after raking. Baselines in the infield grass and outfield grass will be spray-painted by the league. Chalk machines will be located in sheds adjacent to each field at South Campus and at the same locations as listed above for the rakes. Chalk should never be put on the grass.
- In divisions where a pitching machine is used (Varsity, PeeWee, Minor A) the Coordinator will assist the Manager and Coaches of the Home Team in transporting the pitching machine and extension cord from the Green Shed (for Bullard, Tadpole and Minor A Fields) if they are the first game of the day, and for putting the machine and cord back and secured should they be the last game of the day.
- Should your team be the last game of the day, please rake the infields and batting areas before leaving for the night.
- Coordinate team parents to clean up your dugout and bleacher areas and remind the Visiting team to do so also.
- During very dry weeks later in the season, wetting the infield dirt may be needed between games.
