It is with great pleasure, that we announce the winner of this year's Paul Wallin Scholarship. This $2,000 scholarship goes to a WULL player who is a graduating senior and attending college in the fall. It is in memory of Paul Wallin and his consistent mantra over the years of the three D's: Discipline, Desire and Dedication. Coach Wallin even had shirts made for his players back in the day with this message emblazoned on them, and this was before making shirts for players was the norm!

This years group of applicants was the deepest in many years and made the decision very difficult for the selection committee. We are also saddened that we cannot publicly announce this at our annual end of season closing ceremonies as we have done historically.

This year's winner was a lifer in WULL from the age of 5 to 16, an honor student at St. John's, a four year varsity letterman in baseball and team captain for this past season, an Eagle Scout, a player on the 2017 WULL Senior LL World Series team coached by Clint Sauls and a President's Volunteer Service award winner. He will be attending and playing baseball in the fall at Pepperdine University as a catcher.

Please help me congratulate Beckett Vine! Well deserved, and we look forward to hearing more about this young man as he starts the next chapter in his life. Congratulations!

Thank you again for all that submitted applications.  So very proud and honored to read about your accomplishments and know great things are in store for you all.

Sincerely,
