Letter from the President

Dear Parents, Players, and Friends of West University Little League:

WULL has been creating lifetime memories since just after World War II when we started with barely 50 players. We have grown into a league of nearly 1,400 boys and girls of all ages and abilities. Our mission is very clear, we are here to develop our children into extraordinary citizens, and baseball is our means to that end. With an abundance of baseball fields, WULL is able to offer a variety of programs designed around our mission statement. Our programs include our core little league baseball programs, as well as a Tadpole Division for 5 and 6 year olds, an umpire mentoring program for young boys and girls under the tutelage of Randy Bullard, a must-see Challenger and Buddy program, and a Junior and Senior program that is managed and coached exclusively by young men, many of whom played in West U Little League.

Several years ago, we partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance, an organization that emphasizes winning in the right way and using team sports to teach life lessons. We recently had over 80 of our 112 managers attend a PCA workshop and are now certified as Double-Goal Managers. We also had over 125 parents attend workshops the past two weekends. Visit PCA's website at www.positivecoach.org to learn more about this organization.

Finally, I would like to thank all of the businesses that support youth sports and WULL. Registration dues cover only 40 percent of the costs to operate our league, while the rest of the funds come from concessions, events, and our wonderful sponsors. I encourage you to patronize the businesses that support WULL.

West University Little League Brent Bechtol, President
